Join Baja Wine + Food for a cross-border collaboration and Dia de Los Muertos celebration featuring THE US GRANT Hotel San Diego’s Executive Chef Mark Kropczynski and guest Chef Flor Franco of Valle de Guadalupe’s Finca La Carrodilla.
A cocktail reception commences the spirited celebration, mingling with guests of honor, sipping a Mezcal welcome cocktail crafted by Grant Grill’s Chef de Bar, Cory Alberto, and enjoying tray passed appetizers such as Ceviche and Empanadas by Chef Kropczynski and Chef Flor.
The main event is a 5-course tasting dinner where Chef Kropczynski and Chef Franco will each showcase their own interpretations of Baja ingredients. Expect dishes from Chef Kropczynski like Baja Spiny Lobster with Roasted Fall Squash and Chorizo, and dishes from Chef Flor like Mole Negro 12hr Duck with Yam Chochoyote, Compressed Asparagus and Marigolds.
To complement the cuisine, each of the first 4 courses will be expertly paired with the best of Baja Wines from Vena Cava, Finca La Carrodilla, Lomita and Adobe Guadalupe. The fifth and final course will feature a special cocktail preparing by THE US GRANT’s Head Mixologist, Cicerone and Sommelier, Jeff Josenhans.
